Welcome to a new feature here at the Birmingham Backline. Our goal is to provide a weekly one stop shop where you can catch up on all the big news stories across the soccer world with a particular focus on the Birmingham scene. For now, we’ll be calling this the Weekly Wrap-up, until one of y’all send us a more clever name. Look for the wrap-up to post every Thursday morning. If you have any specific topics you would like to see us cover, or any other recommendations, please let us know!

The USMNT will be playing a friendly against Paraguay this upcoming Tuesday, March 27th. As is the theme of this cycle, now that the World Cup is out of the question, the roster features a lot of young American talent, with the average age being 23.

The quarter-finals of the Champions League have been drawn, featuring some pretty great matchups. The first leg will kick off on April 3rd.
